But she&#8217;s now a decade older than that and instead of the progress she imagined, around 100 towns \u2014 nearly one third of her country \u2014 have declared themselves \u201cLGBT-free zones.\u201d Gay people have few legal rights and the government doesn\u2019t protect members of the LGBTQ+ community against brutal attacks.
